Colorado Gov. Jared Polis continued to fill crucial cabinet positions Wednesday, announcing four new appointees a day after his inauguration.
- Dan Gibbs, currently a Summit County commissioner, will be executive director of the Department of Natural Resources.
- Maj. Gen. Michael Loh will remain as adjutant general and executive director of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.
- Jill Hunsaker Ryan, MPH, will be executive director for the Department of Public Health and Environment. She is a two-term Eagle County commissioner and previously managed Eagle County’s Public Health Agency.
- Dr. Theresa Szczurek will be executive director of the Governor’s Office of Information Technology and chief information officer. She is the former chief executive of Radish Systems, a communications company.
Polis previously announced a dozen cabinet appointees before the December holidays. Most appointees require approval from the Colorado Senate, which is under Democratic control.
