
Colorado native Jim Knous made some history over the weekend, carding an ace during the final round of the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in San Diego, Calif. Knous finished the tournament .
Knous used an 8-iron to hit his hole-in-one on the 193-yard, par-3 third hole on the South Course at Torrey Pines.
Knous grew up in the mountains in Basalt. He went on to play his collegiate golf at Colorado School of Mines in Golden for the Orediggers.
The PGA rookie earned his status on tour via the Web.com Tour Finals in 2018.
Knous is off to a good start in his rookie campaign, making 4 of 8 cuts with one top-10 finish — the this past October.
As of Tuesday, Knous is a fourth alternate for the Waste Management Phoenix Open. If he doesn’t get into the field this week he always has around the corner.
