Members of the Denver Classroom Teachers Association rallied Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019, at the Capitol in Denver. The union has voted to strike in response to an ongoing inability to agree on a new contact with Denver Public Schools. The strike is currently on hold while the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment considers whether to intervene in the dispute, a move the district has requested. In the meantime, hundreds of teachers and their supporters turned out Wednesday, rallying at the Denver Public Schools headquarters and marching to the Capitol.
