INDIANAPOLIS — The Scouting Combine rolls on Thursday at the Indiana Convention Center.

Elway leftovers

Broncos general manager did his media tour late Wednesday afternoon. We’ll have more of his comments throughout today and in Friday’s print edition. But here are a few:

1. As a member of the Competition Committee, Elway was in meetings earlier this week.

Asked about expanding instant replay, Elway said: “We’re just going through the process right now and getting all the information, taking information in from all the different sub-committees. Then we (re-visit) those when we get to Arizona for the owners’ meetings and put it together there.”

2. The Broncos need multiple cornerbacks — they’re not hiding that.

“We think there are some cornerbacks in the draft,” Elway said. “We think itap a rather deep class so thatap an option. But there’s also an option in free agency. … We’ve just got to find some depth and find a (No.) 2.”

If Elway and Co., feel the cornerback class is deep, that opens up the Broncos was a trade-down team. They could have the same type of grade on multiple cornerbacks, allowing them to move down and get the same caliber of player.

3. Elway had a kind of “what us worry?” attitude about the offensive line.

“We still have some guys, “Elway said. “We’re taking a look at and trying to get something done there as well as (with Jared) Veldheer. … But Ron Leary is coming back.”

RB, OL take the stage

Running backs and offensive linemen will be available to the media Thursday afternoon.

The Broncos don’t appear to be in the market for a running back, committed to and .

The Broncos are counting on Freeman, a third-round pick in 2018, to take a big step forward.

“We’ve got three or four guys that we’re very happy to have,” coach said. “We feel fortunate in the depth that we have, and the youth. I look at that as one of our strong suits with the team. We’re happy to have Royce and Phillip. I think we’re in good shape there.”

The Broncos need multiple offensive linemen even if Elway mentions the possibility of Veldheer returning at right tackle.

“I never quarrel with a man who buys ink by the barrel,” former Indiana Rep. Charles Brownson said of the press. But we need your help to keep up with the rising cost of ink.
