Eastbound Interstate 70 is closed in the mountains at Avon due to several serious crashes involving injuries.
The highway has been closed at exit 168, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
UPDATE: I-70 remains closed due to serious crash this morning. Closure is eastbound at MP 168. ALT route is HWY 6.

CDOT also recommends travelers take an alternate route on U.S. 6.
