Rocky Mountain National Park rangers spent Sunday and Monday searching for a Tennessee man who has not been heard from since Thursday. They will resume their efforts Tuesday to locate James Pruitt.

According to a news release, rangers on Sunday found a car belonging to Pruitt, 70, of Etowah, Tenn., parked at the Glacier Gorge Trailhead. Pruitt’s family was contacted, and they told officials they had not heard from Pruitt since 10 a.m. Thursday.
Crews began searching the park Sunday, starting with the Glacier Gorge, Loch Vale and Glacier Creek drainage areas.
Searchers on Monday continued searching those areas, as well as the Glacier Gorge North Longs Peak and Boulder Brook trails; the drainage east of the Alberta Falls Trail; the Bear Lake area, including the Nymph Lake area; the Dream Lake area and further to Lake Haiyaha and the Loch/Mills Junction, according to a Monday news release. Larimer County Search and Rescue, including a dog team, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group and the Colorado Search and Rescue Board assisted with the search on Monday.
There has been more than 2 feet of snow accumulation in the Glacier Gorge area since Thursday.
