Man climbing in Boulder County falls about 30 feet, injures back

A climber in Boulder County’s Gregory Canyon fell about 30 feet Wednesday and was taken to a hospital with back injuries.

About 1:45 p.m. the sheriff’s office and other rescue personnel were alerted of a fallen climber on the Amphitheater Trail at Gregory Canyon, according to a news release.

The man, in his early 20s, was “bouldering” just north of the Flatirons when he slipped and fell. He was found and carried out of the area by rescuers. His injuries are not life-threatening.
