Rockies all-star Nolan Arenado is showing fans around the Cactus League why he’s a six-time Gold Glove winner.
In the top of the first inning against the Angels, Arenado snared a line drive shot off the bat of Jonathan Lucroy. The jaw-dropping catch not only ended the inning but also impressed starting pitcher Jon Gray.
Gray said of Arenado’s catch: “That was awesome. Whenever you first hear a sound like that, itap, ‘Oh, great. A guy just got a hit.’ But not with Nolan. I heard the snap of the glove, instead. It was nice.”
Here in Denver fans are thrilled Dick Monfort and the Rockies were able to work out a long-term contract extension with their star third baseman. Baseball fans in LoDo are fortunate they get to watch Arenado flash the leather for 81 games at Coors Field.
