
An inmate died Friday in the Denver jail, according to Denver Sheriff Department union officials.

The inmate likely died of “health related” issues, according Denver Sheriff Lodge No. 27 Fraternal Order of Police.
Deputies at the jail performed CPR on the inmate until paramedics arrived, the union said. Denver police are investigating the death. The inmate was not identified.
The sheriff’s office said Friday that about 4 p.m. a male inmate collapsed in a housing unit during dinnertime. Paramedics were unable to revive the inmate, who was pronounced dead.
