An apartment fire in Arapahoe County on Friday displaced people in 24 units, and a firefighter was taken to a hospital with injuries.
The two-alarm fire at 2172 S. Trenton Way broke out about 4 p.m., according to South Metro Fire Rescue. The fire spread through the attic of a building, shooting flames and plumes of black smoke into the sky.

No residents were injured. South Metro described the firefighter’s injuries as minor. Several pets were rescued as firefighters worked to put out the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
