A paraglider crashed Wednesday afternoon in Jefferson County, swiftly dropping about 200 feet, and the pilot was taken to a hospital.
Erratic winds force down a 45-year-old paraglider. The man took off from near Golden and was looking for a landing spot near Green Mountain when his chute collapsed, dropping him about 200 feet. He landed near C470 & Alameda. Transported to hospital with unknown injuries.

The incident occurred before 4 p.m., and the crash happened near the intersection of C-470 and West Alameda Parkway, according to West Metro Fire Rescue.
