Man accused of impersonating FBI agent, threatening to kill Boulder web developers pleads guilty

The founder of a yoga studio accused of posing as an FBI agent and assaulting and threatening to kill employees of a Boulder web-design firm has pleaded guilty and faces up to 40 years in prison.

Daniel Shea, 46, pleaded guilty on Monday to burglary, kidnapping, extortion and three crime-of-violence sentence enhancers, according to Boulder County Assistant District Attorney Ken Kupfner.

Kupfner said Shea will be sentenced to 25 to 40 years in prison at a hearing on May 17. Shea was scheduled for trial on April 15, but that has now been vacated as a result of the plea.

He remains in custody on $1 million bond.
