With four games left in the regular season, the Avalanche is in the driver seat to earn their first back-to-back playoff berths since 2006.

It’s no easy path for Colorado, who faces three playoff-bound teams — at home against Winnipeg and road games against St. Louis and San Jose — in their final four games. And the bad news: The Avs are 0-3-2 against San Jose and St. Louis this season.

But there’s a silver lining: Colorado is 6-0-1 in its last seven outings and goaltender Philipp Grubauer has caught on fire. According to the team, he finished with the , ahead of Patrick Roy in 2003 (.952).

In this final stretch, the Avs are clinging on to the No. 2 wild-card spot with 85 points. A paper-thin one-point lead over Arizona (three games remaining) and four points over Minnesota (three games remaining).

However if they survive this push and make the playoffs, the odds aren’t terrible for them to make a run. Bovada puts Colorado at 30-to-1 odds to win it all.
