The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is asking people to be on the lookout for a man wearing handcuffs who assaulted a deputy and fled.
Adams County called the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office to help search for the man, who fled Thursday afternoon from the Fox Ridge Mobile Home Park, 26900 E. Colfax Ave., according to Adams County sheriff’s tweets.
The agencies brought dogs to perform yard-to-yard searches and launched a drone to hunt for the man, the tweets said. Officials lifted the perimeter in the area around 1:40 p.m., according to the sheriff’s office.
“It goes without saying but if anyone happens to see a male in handcuffs in the area, please call 911,” a tweet said.
The deputy who was assaulted was not seriously injured.
Sheriff’s officials say the suspect is a Hispanic male in his late teens and is about 5 feet 3 inches tall. He’s wearing a black T-shirt and black Adidas pants. Authorities expect to release a photo later Thursday afternoon.
