The addition of a lounge car and abundant snow at Winter Park appear to have driven a big jump in ridership for Amtrak’s Winter Park Express ski train this year.
More than 19,200 tickets were sold, an increase of 7 percent over last year and 8 percent over 2017. The ski train operated on weekends from January through March, transporting skiers and boarders from Union Station to the Winter Park base.
