The five yellow and brown ducklings seemed so fragile deep inside a Highlands Ranch storm drain that neighbors were worried.
They called South Metro Fire Rescue for help and a firefighter lowered himself down into the storm drain, plucked up five ducklings up and put them in a fire helmet to rescue them.
“Firefighters from Tower 18 rescued the little flock and reunited them with their waiting family nearby,” according to a news release.
