The wooden box emblazoned with the words “Inherited Trauma” that led officials to place Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge on lockdown on Wednesday was empty, police said.
Hospital employees at Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge are clearing people from an area where a suspicious wooden box with “inherited trauma” emblazoned on the front was discovered, police say.
The package was left on a bench. All the entrances of the hospital except for the emergency room were locked as officials worked to clear people from the area.

At 2:14 p.m., Wheat Ridge police tweeted that the Jefferson County bomb squad had determined the box is empty. Police are continuing to investigate, and the road outside the hospital remains closed.
Patients and staff inside the hospital were in lockdown status, said Sara Spaulding, spokeswoman for the Wheat Ridge Police Department.
Wheat Ridge police were called about the suspicious package late in the morning, Spaulding said.
People are being asked to stay out of the area.
