The Colorado Petroleum Council said Thursday that Lynn Granger has been named as the organization’s new executive director,

Granger, formerly with Colorado Concern, a business advocacy association, succeeds Tracee Bentley, who became the CEO of the Permian Strategic Partnership in March.

“Colorado is a cornerstone of America’s energy revolution, and Lynn possesses every leadership quality needed to lead our industry forward in the state,” Mike Sommers, CEO of the American Petroleum Institute, said in a statement.

The Colorado Petroleum Council is a division of API, a trade association that represents all segments of America’s oil and natural gas industry.

At Colorado Concern, Granger led operational and strategic execution for the organization. Before that, she was the communications director for the Colorado Department of Revenue.

Granger began her career as a soldier in the U.S. Army before embarking on a civilian communications career. She was the strategic communications adviser to the Commander of U.S. Army Europe.
