The Colorado Department of Transportation will repair the eastbound Interstate 70 bridge over Soda Creek Road, beginning Wednesday.
The repairs will begin at 7 p.m. and will start at mile point 249, two miles east of the Beaver Brook/Floyd Hill Exit in Evergreen. A single-lane closure will start at 7 p.m., which will expand into a double-lane closure at 9 p.m. nightly Sunday through Thursday. All the lanes will be scheduled to reopen by 7 a.m.
The project is expected to be completed this summer, but weather could cause delays.
This repair follows I-70 infrastructure work last year to the westbound bridge over Soda Creek Road and the westbound bridge over Clear Creek. The Colorado Department of Transportation described the construction as “urgent,” and said it will allow the department to revisit trouble spots and new areas that are in need of renovation.
The project will include repairing the concrete deck, installing a new waterproofing membrane, repairing bridge joints and placing new asphalt. The costs for the project are expected to total approximately $1.5 million.
