Pat Bowlen is what this country so desperately needs, quiet leaders who accomplish great things. Dick Ebersol has told me there would not be without Pat Bowlen. The story of Pat being a man of his word is moving. Plus, 300 wins in 30 years. God Bless!

Rest In Peace, Pat Bowlen. Classy owner of the Denver Broncos, he was the first NFL owner to win 300 games in his first 30 years. My sympathies go out to Annabel and the entire family.

The one stat that will forever define Pat Bowlen as a owner. Since Bowlen took over in 1984, have had as many Super Bowl appearances as losing seasons (seven). They became a must-see, cornerstone franchise for NFL.

I have many memories of Pat Bowlen, on matters both big and small, but one of my favorites will always be how he would predict the Broncos would go 16-0 every season — "If I don't think that way, how will anyone else?'' Condolences to the Bowlen family.

I loved this clip I found in the @CBSDenver archives. It's from an interview with Pat Bowlen after he first bought the team.
Hearing his enthusiasm about becoming the owner of the Broncos is the best part:
