SAN FRANCISCO — Bud Black sat in the visiting dugout prior to the Rockies’ series finale against the Giants on Wednesday, taking in the digs.
No matter what the stadium is called — first Pacific Bell Park, and then SBC Park, AT&T Park and now Oracle Park — it’s pretty sweet, he said. Top-five worthy, certainly. But not the Colorado skipper’s favorite.
Here’s Black’s list of top five modern ballparks. He gives a homer nod to the Rockies’ stadium at No. 1, noting that “treasure is a great word to describe it. It’s a great ballpark, and to me, it still looks like a new park and it’s grown to be a huge part of the (LoDo) community. I can’t believe it’s 25 years old.”
1. Coors Field, Rockies
2. Wrigley Field, Cubs
3. Fenway Park, Red Sox
4. Oracle Park, Giants
5. Petco Park, Padres
