Due to a rock slide during blasting, Boulder Canyon Drive is currently closed between Boulder and Nederland.
According to a release from the Colorado Department of Transportation, the “unexpected rock fall” occurred between mile marker 39 and 40 of Colo. 119.
Boulder Canyon Drive , but did not reopen Wednesday afternoon as scheduled while crews try to clear the roadway. Officials said the road would likely be closed until at least 4 p.m., and delays could last into the evening.
Drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes between Nederland and Boulder today.
