Most Denver-area students are headed into their last five weeks of summer vacation, and in some districts, kids will head back to school even sooner.
Districts vary quite a bit on their start dates, and some have students in transition grades heading back earlier to settle in for a day or two before their older peers arrive.
Chances are good, however, that you’ll notice kids in backpacks walking to school or their bus stop sometime between Aug. 12 and 16.
Here are the start dates for districts in the Denver metro area:

: Friday, Aug. 9, for students in kindergarten, sixth or ninth grade; Monday, Aug. 12, for all other students
