Rockies-Nationals game postponed because of threat of heavy rain

WASHINGTON — Monday night’s game between the Rockies and the Nationals at Nationals Park was postponed because of the threat of heavy rains and flash flooding.

The game will be made up on Wednesday part of a split doubleheader. The first game is scheduled for 11:05 am MDT, with the second game scheduled for 5:05 pm MDT.

Both games will be televised by AT&T SportsNet and broadcast on KOA (850 AM).

Rockies rookie right-hander Peter Lambert, originally scheduled to pitch Monday’s game, will now start Tuesday’s game. The Nationals will start veteran right-hander Stephen Strasburg.

Wednesday, the Rockies will start right-hander (originally scheduled to pitch Tuesday) and left-hander . Colorado has not announced who will pitch the first game.

Washington has not announced its starters for Wednesday’s doubleheader, although it’s likely that left-hander Patrick Corbin will pitch one of the games.
