An injured hiker was rescued Wednesday after suffering a leg injury in Eldorado Canyon State Park.

About 1 p.m. the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the hiker’s injury, which happened on the Rattlesnake Gulch Trail, according to a news release.

After the injury, the hiker, who is in his mid-60s, required assistance to withdraw from the remote, rough terrain.

Rescue workers responded, found the man and carried him out, using a wheeled litter, to a waiting ambulance. He was taken to a hospital.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, Rocky Mountain Fire Authority, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
