A collection of past champions, Olympic medal winners and world champion cyclists will participate in this year’s Colorado Classic — the first as a standalone women’s event — in August.

Defending champion Katie Hall of the U.S. National Team returns to defend her title in the cycling event, with other headliners including former world champion and Olympic bronze medalist Tatiana Gudzero (Italy), 2017 Colorado Classic champion Sara Poidevin (Canada), and track star and multiple-time world champion Chloe Dygert-Owen (U.S.).

At least 96 world-class riders are expected to compete in the four-stage race set that runs Aug. 22-25 with stages in Steamboat Springs, Avon, Golden and Denver.

“I think (the Colorado Classic) is a step forward for us,” said 2018 stage-winner Kendall Ryan (U.S.) in a news release. “Itap amazing that they want to create races just for women. And I think itap really special that itap happening in the U.S. And Colorado is smack-dab in the middle and itap really special that they’re creating that platform for us.”
