PHOTOS: Mountain bikers tackle snow, mud as mountain goats watch during 6-day Breck Epic race

Mountain bikers are in the final stretch of the through Colorado’s backcountry; the race started Aug. 11. Riders are making their way through mud, snow and scenic views as they start and end each day’s race within the Breckenridge town limits. Riders, who came from more than 20 countries and dozens of states, will cover close to 240 miles and 40,000 vertical feet by the time the race is over. The race is offering a $30,000 purse this year.
