The McNay fire, a 542-acre wildfire burning northwest of Fort Collins, is now 97% contained, according to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s officials expect the fire 10 miles west of Livermore to be fully contained by the end of Wednesday, according to a post on Twitter.
UPDATE – Incident Command reports no significant activity overnight and no growth. Fire is now 97% contained and should reach 100% today. Smoke will be visible from the interior and from the prescribed burn in RFL.

The wildfire was ignited by a car fire and quickly grew to 150 acres Sunday, then expanded Monday. It did not see any growth Tuesday, according to the sheriff’s office.
Fire operations are expected to continue Wednesday, but officials warned that residents will likely still see smoke because of the McNay fire’s interior as well as a U.S. Forest Service prescribed burn in Red Feather Lakes.
