Mitchell couldn’t quite keep up with a strong Alamosa squad, losing by a score of 56-2 on Friday, Sept. 20.
Brendon Madril led Alamosa’s passing attack with 156 yards through the air, tossing three touchdowns and one interception. Madril also chipped in one touchdown on the ground. Madril’s favorite target in the contest was Ian Jackson, who caught three passes for 69 yards. Brenden Crowther got in on the action in the passing game as well, snagging three balls for 62 yards.
Luke Smith lead the Alamosa ground attack by accumulating 60 yards and one touchdown in the contest, averaging 12 yards per carry.
Both teams will go on the road in their next contest, with Alamosa heading to play Lamar and Mitchell taking on Pueblo County.
