Basalt earned a win when they defeated Pagosa Springs 39-19 on Friday, Sept. 20.
Basalt quarterback Matty Gillis led the passing attack with 140 yards through the air, throwing two touchdowns without an interception. Gillis also added 36 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Jackson Rappaport lead all Basalt receivers with six catches for 98 yards and two scores.
Cole Dombrowski spearheaded the Basalt rushing attack by gaining 130 yards in the contest, averaging 6.2 yards per carry. Gavin Webb added 54 yards and one touchdown on the ground, averaging 6 yards per carry.
Next up for each team, Basalt will stay home and play Paonia, while Pagosa Springs will travel to play Moffat County.
