Moffat County handed Battle Mountain their first loss in a narrow 36-34 victory on Friday, Sept. 20.

Moffat County quarterback Ryan Peck led the passing attack with 214 yards through the air, tossing three touchdowns and three interceptions. Peck also added 25 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Dario Alexander lead all Moffat County receivers with seven receptions for 124 yards and two scores.

Kevin Hernandez paced all Moffat County rushers with 33 yards in the game. Hernandez also tacked on 46 receiving yards.

Hezekiah Gongaware spearheaded the Battle Mountain ground game by gaining 141 yards and two touchdowns in the game, averaging 5 yards per carry. Anthony Sanchez added 73 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, averaging 4.3 yards per carry.

Both teams will stay at home in their next contest, with Moffat County hosting Pagosa Springs and Battle Mountain taking on Woodland Park.
