Fort Morgan narrowly lost to Thomas Jefferson in a 25-22 game on Friday, Sept. 20.
Trenton Koser led Thomas Jefferson’s passing attack with 116 yards through the air. Craig Patterson lead all Thomas Jefferson receivers with four receptions for 53 yards.
Bryce Alexander spearheaded the Thomas Jefferson ground game by gaining 136 yards and one touchdown in the contest, averaging 27.2 yards per carry. Adam Coleman added 60 yards and one touchdown on the ground, averaging 8.6 yards per carry. Ethan Rollins chipped in with 52 yards and one touchdown, averaging 4 yards per carry, in addition to 32 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Briggs Wheatley led Fort Morgan’s passing attack with 128 yards through the air. Wheatley also added 32 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Wheatley’s most reliable receiver in the contest was Jacob Ortega, who caught one pass for 47 yards and one score.
Fort Morgan’s ground game was lead by David Sarinana who accrued 39 yards in the contest.
Thomas Jefferson will play host to Northfield, while Fort Morgan will travel to play Conifer.
