Haxtun couldn’t quite keep up with a potent Dayspring Christian Academy squad, losing by a score of 48-8 on Saturday, Sept. 21.
Christian Still powered Dayspring Christian Academy’s passing attack with 214 yards through the air, throwing four touchdowns and one interception. Still also added 98 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Dayspring Christian Academy’s leading receiver was Ethan Pratt, who caught four passes for 77 yards and two scores. Caden Bonnell got in on the action in the passing game as well, reeling in four balls for 59 yards and two touchdowns.
In addition to Still’s effort, Garrett Krehbiel paced the Dayspring Christian Academyrushing game by running for 51 yards in the game, averaging 5.7 yards per carry. Krehbiel also tacked on 41 receiving yards.
Haxtun’s rushing game was spearheaded by Ike Andersen who tallied 57 yards and one touchdown in the contest. Andersen also tacked on 54 receiving yards.
In their next games, Haxtun will stay home and play Merino, while Dayspring Christian Academy will travel to play Caliche.
