Basalt earned a win when they defeated Paonia 20-0 on Friday.
Matty Gillis powered Basalt’s passing attack with 113 yards through the air, throwing one touchdown with no interceptions. Gillis also added one touchdown on the ground. Jackson Rappaport lead all Basalt receivers with five catches for 55 yards and one score.
Cole Dombrowski spearheaded the Basalt ground game by finishing with 24 yards and one touchdown in the game, averaging 4 yards per carry.
In their next games, Basalt will play host to Moffat County, while Paonia will travel to play Hotchkiss.Paonia has not reported any team or player statistics from this contest.
