Mullen couldn’t quite keep up with a strong Grandview squad, losing by a score of 42-12 on Friday.

Noah Schmidt paced the Grandview rushing game by running for 253 yards and three touchdowns in the contest, averaging 7.7 yards per carry. Schmidt also tacked on 34 receiving yards.

Kaleb Valdez-lemos led Mullen’s passing attack with 93 yards through the air, throwing one touchdown and two interception. Valdez-lemos’ most prolific target in the contest was Ben Marcoux, who caught four passes for 67 yards and one score.

Mullen’s rushing game was spearheaded by Damien Cearns who accrued 20 yards in the contest.

Both teams will go on the road in their next contest, with Grandview heading to play Eaglecrest and Mullen taking on Columbine.
