Palmer couldn’t quite keep up with a strong Coronado squad, losing by a score of 47-26 on Friday.
Palmer quarterback Carlos Moreno led the passing attack with 295 yards through the air. Jaiveon Kendrick was also Palmer’s leading receiver on the day. Jesse Saiz contributed in the passing game as well, reeling in six passes for 63 yards and one touchdown.
Palmer’s ground game was paced by Kendrick who tallied 48 yards in the game, averaging 5.3 yards per carry. Kendrick also tacked on 185 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Both teams will stay at home in their next contest, with Coronado hosting Grand Junction Central and Palmer taking on Air Academy.
