Alamosa couldn’t quite keep up with a strong Lamar squad, losing by a score of 48-25 on Friday.
Lamar quarterback Zane Rankin led the aerial attack with 103 yards through the air. Rankin also added 31 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Zane Rankin’s most prolific target in the ballgame was Blake Buxton, who caught three passes for 67 yards and two scores.
Walker Kee lead all Lamar rushers with 180 yards and two touchdowns in the contest, averaging 16.4 yards per carry.
Brendon Madril led Alamosa’s passing attack with 227 yards through the air, tossing two touchdowns and four interceptions. Madril also added 37 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Alamosa’s leading receiver was Brenden Crowther, who caught eight passes for 128 yards and one score.
Alamosa’s rushing game was lead by Luke Smith who racked up 45 yards in the game.
Next up for each team, Alamosa will stay home and play Bayfield, while Lamar will travel to play The Classical Academy.
