Denver West couldn’t quite keep up with a potent Denver North squad, losing by a score of 28-6 on Friday.

Michael Valdez spearheaded the Denver North ground game by running for 156 yards and two touchdowns in the game, averaging 11.1 yards per carry. Kenny Saiz added 82 yards and one touchdown on the ground, averaging 4.6 yards per carry. Izreal Garcia chipped in with 75 yards , averaging 12.5 yards per carry.

Denver West quarterback Joseph Valdez led the passing attack with 66 yards through the air. Valdez also added 41 yards on the ground. Na’marcus Williams lead all Denver West receivers with two catches for 88 yards and one score.

Denver West’s ground attack was spearheaded by Alex Banuellos who ran for 52 yards in the game, averaging 4.3 yards per carry.

Looking ahead to their next games, Denver West will stay home and play Faith Christian, while Denver North will travel to play Holy Family.
