Glenwood Springs couldn’t quite keep up with a potent Rifle squad, losing by a score of 34-7 on Friday.

Holden Stutsman led Rifle’s passing attack with 61 yards through the air, throwing two touchdowns with no interceptions. Stutsman also added 58 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Stutsman’s most prolific target in the ballgame was Talon Cordova, who caught one pass for 30 yards and one score.

Levi Warfel paced the Rifle ground attack by accumulating 166 yards and one touchdown in the contest, averaging 7.2 yards per carry. Warfel also tacked on 27 receiving yards and one touchdown. Kenny Tlaxcala added 83 yards on the ground, averaging 5.9 yards per carry.

Both teams will stay at home in their next contest, with Rifle hosting Coal Ridge and Glenwood Springs taking on Roosevelt.
