Erie easily put away Canon City by a score of 35-7 on Friday, Sept. 27.
Gavin Mendoza powered Erie’s passing attack with 81 yards through the air, throwing two touchdowns with no interceptions. Grayson Schenbeck lead all Erie receivers with one reception for 42 yards.
Mason Veve spearheaded the Erie ground game by gaining 159 yards and two touchdowns in the game, averaging 7.2 yards per carry.
Harrison Pilafas led Canon City’s passing attack with 114 yards through the air. Raymond Cammel was also Canon City’s leading receiver on the day.
Cammel paced the Canon City rushing attack by running for 169 yards and one touchdown in the contest, averaging 7 yards per carry. Cammel also tacked on 46 receiving yards.
Next up for each team, Erie will stay home and play Mead, while Canon City will travel to play Sand Creek.
