Genoa-Hugo handed Hanover a loss in a 50-38 showdown on Saturday, Sept. 28.

Colby Simmons powered Genoa-Hugo’s passing attack with 53 yards through the air. Simmons also added 156 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Kyler Rowden-Stum lead all Genoa-Hugo receivers with four receptions for 41 yards and one score.

Genoa-Hugo was lead by Kaenon Gossett and his 29 yards in the game, averaging 5.8 yards per carry.

Hanover quarterback Dalton Sweazy led the passing attack with 177 yards through the air. Hanover’s leading receiver was Devin Johnson, who caught four passes for 72 yards and one score. Tyler Hofmann contributed in the passing game as well, grabbing two passes for 51 yards and two touchdowns.

Josh Magana spearheaded the Hanover rushing attack by finishing with 76 yards and one touchdown in the contest, averaging 5.1 yards per carry.

Both teams will go on the road in their next contest, with Genoa-Hugo heading to play Kiowa and Hanover taking on Edison.
