In the Spring of 2019, John Grant Jr. was enjoying his retirement from professional lacrosse. He had cemented a legacy through a 13-year career, very impressive statistics, a role as the offensive coordinator for the Denver Outlaws (along with assistant coach at Air Force Academy) and got to watch his 9-year-old daughter Gabby play the sport he loves. But it was his daughter that ultimately convinced him to return to the sport.

He overcame injury to break the Major League Lacrosse all-time scoring record in June and helped his team reach the playoffs, again. Plus, Gabby still gets to watch her dad play.
