Rocky Ford won by just a single point over Monte Vista on Friday, Sept. 27.
Isiah Garcia powered Rocky Ford’s passing attack with 105 yards through the air, throwing two touchdowns and two interceptions. Rocky Ford’s leading receiver was Dru Jones, who caught five passes for 81 yards and one score.
Chance Finch lead all Rocky Ford rushers with 44 yards in the contest.
Kaidon Wenta led Monte Vista’s passing attack with 82 yards through the air. Wenta also added 129 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Jarren Chavez lead all Monte Vista receivers with five receptions for 58 yards.
Monte Vista’s rushing attack was lead by Levi Trujillo and his 48 yards on seven carries.
Monte Vista will stay home and play Dolores, while Rocky Ford will travel to play Crowley County.
