Dolores Huerta Prep couldn’t quite keep up with a potent Sargent squad, losing by a score of 60-12 on Saturday at Heroes Middle School Field.
Kage Pepper led Sargent’s passing attack with 87 yards through the air. Pepper also added 46 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Pepper’s favorite receiver in the ballgame was Payton Brown, who caught three passes for 78 yards.
Blake Behil paced all Sargent rushers with 165 yards and one touchdown in the game, averaging 20.6 yards per carry. Behil also tacked on one receiving touchdown. Wyatt Cross added 85 yards and three touchdowns on the ground, averaging 8.5 yards per carry.
Both teams will stay at home in their next contest, with Sargent hosting Norwood and Dolores Huerta Prep taking on Justice.
