Woodland Park came back from a 12-point deficit to win by a score of 19-18 on Friday, Sept. 27.
Colin Kucera led Woodland Park’s passing attack with 171 yards through the air, tossing three touchdowns and three interceptions. Kucera’s favorite receiver in the game was Tyler Baldus, who caught five passes for 80 yards and one score. Bryson Cox contributed in the passing game as well, grabbing three passes for 65 yards and one touchdown.
Woodland Park’s rushing attack was spearheaded by Matias Lopez who racked up 26 yards in the contest.
Hezekiah Gongaware paced the Battle Mountain rushing attack by accumulating 132 yards and one touchdown in the contest, averaging 4.7 yards per carry.
Both teams will go on the road in their next contest, with Woodland Park heading to play La Junta and Battle Mountain taking on Summit.
