Coronado couldn’t quite keep up with a strong Grand Junction Central squad, losing by a score of 42-20 on Friday, Oct. 4.
Joe Carol led Grand Junction Central’s passing attack with 69 yards through the air. Carol also added 83 yards on the ground. Carol’s favorite receiver in the contest was Elijah Romero, who caught two passes for 27 yards.
Romero spearheaded the Grand Junction Central rushing attack by finishing with 138 yards in the contest, averaging 13.8 yards per carry. Patrick Courtney added 96 yards on the ground, averaging 6.9 yards per carry.
Grand Junction Central will stay home and play Vista Ridge, while Coronado will travel to play Air Academy.
