The Classical Academy easily defeated Lamar by a score of 48-27 on Friday, Oct. 4.
Hayden Cooper led The Classical Academy’s passing attack with 76 yards through the air, tossing one touchdown with no interceptions.
Cade Palmer paced The Classical Academy ground game by running for 193 yards and four touchdowns in the contest, averaging 6.2 yards per carry. Palmer also tacked on 27 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Zane Rankin led Lamar’s passing attack with 274 yards through the air, throwing four touchdowns and three interception. Blake Buxton got in on the action in the passing game as well, snagging six balls for 106 yards and one touchdown. Lamar also got 51 yards receiving from Damian Ramos in the contest.
Walker Kee spearheaded the Lamar ground game by running for 24 yards in the contest. Kee also tacked on 129 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Both teams will go on the road in their next contest, with The Classical Academy heading to play Manitou Springs and Lamar taking on Woodland Park.
