Ikon Passes for 2020-21 ski season go on sale next week, with new “session pass” option

On Thursday, Ikon Pass launched the first volley in its annual duel with Epic Pass, announcing that passes for next season will go on sale next week with the introduction of a four-day pass.

On sale March 5,  — with no blackout dates at 40 ski destinations — will cost $999 ($899 for renewals). The Ikon Base Pass, good at 38 destinations with some blackout dates, will cost $699 ($649 for renewals).

The new four-day Ikon “session pass” will go for $399. That can be used at multiple mountains or the same mountain.

All prices announced Thursday are good until April 22, when prices will go up.

Colorado resorts with full or limited access via Ikon passes include Steamboat, Winter Park, Copper Mountain, Eldora Mountain Resort, Aspen Snowmass (with four mountains) and Arapahoe Basin.

Ikon also announced an interest-free payment plan. Purchases made with $199 down payments before April 22 can be paid off in four monthly payments beginning in June.

A spokesperson for Vail Resorts said sales of Epic Passes for next season will begin “soon.”
