The Colorado Rockies finished the 2019 season 71-91 and had the fourth-worst record in the National League, coming in just ahead of division rival San Diego.

The Los Angeles Dodgers ran away with the NL West, winning 106 games. Well, those Dodgers are finished as the Washington Nationals derailed L.A. Wednesday night in Game 5 of the division series.

The only team most Rockies fans would root for during the postseason would have been anyone playing against the Dodgers. So now where should Rockies faithful turn?

How about 1,781 miles east to Yankee Stadium in The Bronx, New York?

That’s correct. Rox fans should want to see the Yankees win the World Series, for the players who make up “Rockies East.”

All-star DJ LeMahieu is a fan favorite you want to see succeed. About the only person in Colorado who might not want to see him succeed would be Rockies general manager Jeff Bridich, who let him walk to free agency without offering him a contract.

Also throw former Rox standouts Adam Ottavino and Mike Tauchman into the mix. Both have contributed to Yankees in 2019.

And although he never played for Colorado, former Grandview High School star Greg Bird is on the 60-day disabled list and is a player many Coloradans would like to see get a ring. So enjoy the rest of the fall classic and enjoy watching the former Rockies who are succeeding away from Coors Field.
