Basalt easily handled Coal Ridge by a score of 34-0 on Friday, Oct. 11.
Basalt quarterback Matty Gillis led the aerial attack with 72 yards through the air, tossing one touchdown without an interception. Gillis also added 29 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Basalt’s leading receiver was Jackson Rappaport, who caught five passes for 59 yards and one score.
Basalt’s rushing game was lead by Cole Dombrowski who tallied 134 yards and two touchdowns in the game, averaging 6.1 yards per carry.
Damian Spell paced the Coal Ridge rushing attack by running for 93 yards in the game.
Both teams will go on the road in their next contest, with Basalt heading to play Delta and Coal Ridge taking on Moffat County.
